Classification of Speaker Drivers by Frequency, Elsound® Audio

Speakers can be classified based on the frequency range they reproduce. Here are some types of speakers based on frequency range:

  1. Full-Range Speaker: Full-range speakers are designed to reproduce a wide range of audio frequencies, from low to high frequencies. They usually consist of a single driver or multiple drivers working together to cover a wide frequency range. However, due to physics limitations, full-range speakers are often unable to produce very deep bass or very clear treble. Some Elsound products® for the full range type is 10″ M100X20 which is 10″, and SPKD 12FR for 12″ size
  2. Subwoofer: Subwoofers are specifically designed to reproduce low frequencies or very deep bass, usually ranging from around 20 Hz to 200 Hz. They use larger, more powerful drivers and specially designed cabinets to generate the air pressure needed for powerful, pervasive bass. 12SUBM140C50 and 10SUBM140C50 is a product of Elsound® that represents this type.
  3. Mid-Range Speaker: Mid-range speakers focus on the mid-frequency range, usually around 200 Hz to 5 kHz. They are responsible for clear and accurate reproduction of vocal sounds and musical instruments.
  4. Tweeter: Tweeters are speakers specifically designed to reproduce high frequencies, usually ranging from around 2 kHz to 20 kHz. They are responsible for conveying fine details in music such as cymbals, high vocals, and other treble effects. Elsound® besides having a type tweeter PIEZO NK-01 tweeter that can be obtained in the price range of only 20 thousand rupiah also offers a type of TWM 45120 in the price range of 200,000.
  5. Mid-Woofer and Woofer: Mid-woofers and woofers are speakers that focus on reproducing mid to low frequencies, usually ranging from around 80 Hz to 2 kHz for mid-woofers and below that for woofers. They are responsible for producing deeper vocal sounds and some musical instruments like bass guitar and drums. Check Elsound products® for woofer types such as SPKD 1036ESF-W, SPKD 12WOOFER here>> Elsound® Woofer
